Catching Up

Well, I've neglected to post about anything since Halloween so here's everything since then in pictures.

Decorating the exterior of our house for the holidays.

Wesley and Daddy inspecting Mommy's work. :)

Christmas party with our Mommy's Group. The kids are getting SO big! From far away we have Vin, Sienna, Finley, Isaiah, Zen (new to the group), Liam, and Wesley's head.

Liam, Wesley & Trevor (left to right). We were trying to get a group picture of all the kiddos but as you can imagine it didn't quite work out.

Liam and Wesley

Wesley with Santa. We went back to North Park Mall again this year but unlike last year Wesley was a little unhappy to see Santa.

Our most recent saga has been that Wesley has learned how to climb and has used that knowledge (get this) to climb out of his crib! The night before we left town for the Christmas holiday he climbed out so we put up the play yard, which is about 6" deeper, and he proceeded to climb right out of that as well. That night I wound up sleeping on the floor next to his bed and the first hour and a half I played Policewoman Mommy and kept him in his crib until he finally went to sleep.

Here was our attempt to find a temporary solution but he just climbed over the side and we heard him jiggling the door knob to his room. Ugh!
Christmas Day at Gram & Poppy's - Wesley just got a new rocking horse. :)

Abby posing in front of the Christmas Tree.

New shoes! Yeay!

A puzzle board. (Notice Wesley is wearing a pair of his new shoes.)

A new train!

The train is so cute. It's a block train so Wesley can take it apart and put it back together in a different order.

Opening his stocking. He's fascinated with flashlights so Gram made sure he got his own in his stocking. So goofy!

Gram always gives an orange in our stockings and Wesley was convinced it was a "ball." He had so much fun throwing it around. Cutie Boy!
Merry Christmas Everyone & Happy New Year!

Snotty, Coughing Halloween

Well, we had to cancel our Halloween plans to party with friends because our little ghost became a snot monster to boot! We didn't go all out with his costume this year, and truthfully we just stumbled across it.

A month or so ago Wesley was going through our dresser drawers, as he often does, and pulled out one of Jeff's shirts. He managed to put it on and he was instantly a little ghost. So this is what he was going to be for Halloween this year.

Hubby's New Blog

I wanted to share with all of my faithful (ha, ha!) readers that Jeff has starged a new blog. When he was in law school he blogged quite a bit and it was great. He's started a new blog called PoliLaw: The World of Politics, Law, & Sports (all of his favorite things, by the way). I know, some of you will say "gag!" but for others this might be right up your alley, or your husband's alley, so I thought I would share. :o)

Pre-Halloween Pictures

Getting ready for Halloween, early. Have to show off my cool skeleton shirt at school! :)
(Mommy Note: Welsey has now figured out how to climb into the rocking chair by himself. He loves the sense of accomplishment.)
School is so much fun! Today we got to play on the playground now that it's finally stopped raining.

Fall Family Pictures

Last month we had a mini-photo session with our amazing photographer Elizabeth Boyce (Earth Mama Photography) at the Dallas Arboretum's fall pumpkin patch. The pictures are amazing and I had to share!

Remembering...

I was sorting through my e-mail subfolders today and getting rid of old, old e-mails (which Jeff is always on my case about, at least when he sees how many messages I keep) and I came across these pictures from the Nursing is Normal Project, organized and photographed by my doula, Kathy O'Brien. I was so excited to participate in her photography campaign to support and encourage other breastfeeding mamas and to generally tell the public that nursing IS NORMAL!

Anyway, thought I would share these pics. What made this even more special for me was that these pictures were taken at Perkins Chapel at SMU, where Jeff and I were married. :)

P.S. Wesley was 2 1/2 months old here. Ahhh!

Wesley & Vin

Vin came over on Sunday to play some while his Mommy and Mama worked on tiling their new kitchen and bathroom. The boys had so much fun with Abby and with the pack-n-play that I set up for Vin to nap in. It was hilarious!!

Sentence Monster!

Okay, we're officially up to three sentences!! Three!!

Wesley is currently saying...

"bye, bye, Dada"

"hello, Bailey" (Jeff's sister's dog, whom we were watching last week)

&

"I know" (which is something I say to him a lot)

It's so much fun to hear him talk away! He seems to add new words to his vocabulary every day.

Wesley's 1st Sentence!

Yesterday Wesley said his first sentence. Goofy me, it took Jeff pointing it out for it to register! Wesley's first sentense was...

"bye, bye, Dada"

Ha!! Isn't that great! :)

Wesley & Mia

Wesley and I went over to Tara and Mia's house the other day and Wesley was quickly enamored of Mia's mini-coup. Tara snapped the following pictures of the kids attempts to see who was actually in the drivers seat. Too cute!!

The 30 Day Green Challenge!

It's been a goal of mine since we found out we were pregnant with Wesley to change our eating habits for the better. We have been making some minor changes that have helped but we haven't take that bigger step yet. Well, with the help of some friends, both in person (thanks Tara!) and online, I am taking that step. I've begun the 30 Day Green Challenge and Wesley and Jeff are both on board to do it with me!!

I actually went home last night and made our first green smoothie (after loading up on all kinds of fresh fruits and greens at the store yesterday). Wesley drank about 8 to 10 oz. worth! I was more concerned about Jeff's reaction to the challenge because he does NOT like spinach, which is the green I am using in our smoothies rignt now. It has such a mild flavor and you really can't taste it at all over the fruits.

Anyway, this is another step for us in the right direction of better health and better eating!

Family Trip to Galveston

We went away last weekend for an end of the summer, quick-trip family vacation to Galveston Island, Texas. Although the travel there was a bit rough (Wesley was fussy most of the way) we had a great time at the beach.

It rained for a short while on Sunday morning and resulting cloud cover was so beautiful! And we got a rainbow (below) with the moon showing just below it.

Wesley had the most fun just playing with the air conditioner in our hotel room.

We only tried taking the stroller to the beach one time. There's just no point when it take two people to move it through the sand!

Fun in the sun and sand!

Wesley got used to my sun glasses on the way home. He looks kind of like a baby spy!
